Beaming with pride at TRADA certification
22nd February 2010
Cladding Sales Adviser John Smith has recently passed BM TRADA’s examination in visual strength grading of softwood to BS 4978:2007. John spent a week at the BM TRADA training centre in High Wycombe, learning about visual strength grading of timber.
John is now certified to grade timber to C16 and C24 in SS and GS classes. Translated, what this means for our customers is that Russwood offers certified assurance that the materials we deliver are fit for purpose. Because we do this in-house we have complete control over quality and can ensure that we supply the very best timber.
This expertise will largely be applied to grading Douglas Fir beams but will also apply to Larch, Pine and Spruce.
John Smith will be studying hardwood on his next trip to BM TRADA, which will allow him to grade Oak beams and other hardwood timbers.
