Positively Passive
31st March 2010
Russwood exhibited at EcoBuild at Earl's Court this year despite being unable to appear in person. RTC Timber Systems of Elgin displayed their Passivewall at this year's exhibition, and used Russwood's Sila A/B for the exterior wall, as you can see here.
PassiveWall™ is a patent-protected closed panel system manufactured in RTC's factory to ensure a high standard of quality and accuracy. The panel uses an I Beam core with 9mm sheathing boards on both sides of the panel to contain the insulated core of recycled glass wool insulation (made from 80% recycled glass).
Externally the panel is supplied with a thermal foil building membrane pre-fitted and internally a pre-fitted thermal vapour barrier provides the main air tight seal. Russwood's Sila A/B channelsiding finishes the exterior wall. This is a select grade of Siberian Larch which is planed to our RW008 profile.
