Scotlarch® Cladding e-CPD update

Following the success of Russwood’s programme of CPDs on External Timber Cladding, we would like to take this opportunity to offer you updates. We aim to send new information to architects two or three times a year, but are of course happy to answer your queries between the e-CPDs.

Scotlarch® has recently been specified on major prestigious projects, including Gareth Hoskin’s Culloden Visitor Centre and Page & Park’s Loch Lomond National Park HQ building.

Scotlarch® is Russwood’s registered name for Scottish-grown heartwood of European Larch. Scotlarch® is kiln-dried to 18-20% moisture content, and is graded to Class 2/3 (BS 1186.3 Part 4).

Benefits of Scotlarch® are:

  • It is grown and machined in Scotland, so has low embodied energy.
  • It is kiln-dried thereby reducing potential movement.
  • Heartwood only means Scotlarch® is durable without any coating, painting or pressure treating.
  • A 25mm thickness for greater durability, hence a longer life.
  • FSC certified – assurance that timber is legally-sourced and sustainable.

Our most popular profile is RW001
