Flooring / Solid Oak Flooring / 17th Century
17th Century Flooring is a unique hand-crafted floor which has been aged to create a stunning finish.
Russwood's solid oak 17th Century Floors are ready to lay and require minimal maintenance. We offer a range of colours, from pale natural to deep smoked. The floorboards are finished with Osmo Hardwax Oil with a top layer sealant and are therefore resistant to staining.
These pre-finished boards can be distressed (for example by hand-scraped or brushed) to give an aged look, hence the 17th Century name. Each board is hand-finished, giving it a unique appearance.
Smoked 17th Century
When the boards are smoked the smoke reacts with the oak tannins and creates a beautiful deep colour which is actually within the wood. Full sized samples of all the colours available in the 17th Century range are on display at our showroom in Newtonmore.

Finishes
Rolled
17th Century flooring can be supplied 'rolled and tumbled' or simply 'rolled' in widths from 100mm to 220mm; the boards are 20mm thick. The rolling process ages the boards and creates a unique finish. Click images below for larger view.
Brushed Finish
The flooring can also be supplied with a brushed finish, where the structurated boards are machine brushed to remove the softer timber which leaves a stunning textured surface. The standard width of 17th Century boards is 170mm wide, but other widths are available on request. Click images below for larger view.
