We have recently seen a rise in the popularity of using Oak flooring as interior cladding to create a unique feature wall in your home. Cabin in the city
Brighten a compact area by using light-coloured Oak flooring as a feature wall. This project, Cabins In The City, created harmony throughout the home by installing European Oak flooring in Chalk in the upstairs bedrooms as well as repurposing leftover floorboards to build unique drawers which compliment the cladding.
Glecknabae
Go bold by continuing your flooring up the walls and covering the ceiling for a unique look, like here at Glecknabae Farm. The natural texture of the Brushed Oak creates warmth whilst the light shade of the oak allows more light into the low ceiling loft room. Boards have been precisely fitted for a clean but powerful design statement.
Badgergate
The fireplace has become a distinctive feature in this new build, incorporating European Oak flooring in Chalk on the walls & ceiling. The light oak combined with white tile flooring makes the most of the light in this airy, open-plan space.
Innovative ways to use leftover flooring
Headboard feature
Can’t decide on a headboard? You can create a bespoke one using leftover floorboards. This project used European Oak flooring in Silk as a feature wall behind the bed, giving the illusion of a headboard whilst creating an interesting feature wall in the bedroom.
Bathroom feature
Ackie Macrae Joinery used European Oak flooring in Pearl to create a beautiful backdrop in this bathroom. The home features the flooring throughout and incorporating it as cladding in the bathroom created a continuity throughout the project. An inspirational way to use up leftover floorboards.
