Meet the team – Dougie Edwards

1 min read

Shinty players, flame-throwers, sidecar racing champions… timber isn’t the only talent of the Russwood team. We even have a rock star in our midst. Read on to find out more about Yard Operative and part-time bass guitarist, Dougie Edwards.

It hasn’t always been timber and forklifts for Dougie; a talented musician, Dougie graduated with a degree in Popular Music from Napier University before joining Inverness band Jyrojets as bass guitarist. Upon forming, the band apparently spent a month rehearsing before recording their first demo, which secured them a gig at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and airplay on Radio 1. The Jyrojets played various festivals and toured Europe and the USA.

When I’m not at work…

“I’m spending time with my wife Lesley-Anne and our kids, Stanley and Evelyn. I also enjoy playing football and playing guitar.”

Not a lot of people know this about me…

“I play bass guitar in a wedding band at weekends (The Anne Dickson Band) I also used to play in Jyrojets”
