We strive to be the best for our customers through unrivaled technical expertise and customer service and to do our best for the environment by offering sustainable, high-performance timber products. While the business has grown and we’ve built our reputation on professionalism and being experts in our field, we’re proud to say that Russwood still retains the feel of a family business. Training & Development
Russwood is committed to the training and development of all our employees to enable them to achieve their maximum potential. We aim to provide training opportunities which include an induction programme for all new employees to assist them into their new role, and a progressive training and development scheme to enable everyone to develop relevant skills and acquire knowledge to underpin their current role and career aspirations. We regularly review our level of investment in staff training and development to ensure that adequate resources are being provided, and also that training and development activity is delivering a benefit to both employees and Russwood.
Living in the Cairngorms
Most of our roles are based at our headquarters in Newtonmore. Located in the Cairngorms National Park, Newtonmore and the surrounding villages offer a fantastic place to live. Just a mile and a half off the A9, Newtonmore is ideally located for accessing a wide range of amenities and activities. The railway passes through Newtonmore, with the train station right outside our office.
The local area is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts with walking, cycling, fishing, golf, canoeing, skiing, climbing and just about any other outdoor activity you can think of available nearby. We consider ourselves very lucky to have such an adventure playground on our doorstep! If you prefer watching over taking part, Newtonmore’s Shinty Team plays most Saturdays at the Eilan and if you are more of an indoor person, there’s a cinema at Macdonald Aviemore Resort and plenty of great cafes, pubs, and restaurants to enjoy.
This great video from Visit Cairngorms gives a feel for what it’s like to live in the Cairngorms.
