Sustainability
Abodo® Vulcan Vertical Grain is a rapidly renewable species which is sustainably sourced from fast-growing New Zealand plantation timber. EPD available.

Radiata Pine is modified using only heat and steam.
Weathering
Abodo® Vulcan Vertical Grain is usually supplied coated, however if left to weather naturally, will turn to a light grey colour over time.
Density
Low – classified by BS EN 350-2 as approximately 420 Kg/m³ at a moisture content of approximately 6-8%.

Highly versatile, suitable for most cladding applications, with fixed lengths and custom sizes (including wide sections and fins) available.

Abodo Vulcan VG is crafted from radiata pine, which grows in FSC-certified plantation forests in New Zealand. Rich soils and high annual rainfall guarantee rapid growth and help it sequester more carbon than slow-growing tree species. And despite the distance this product has to travel to reach the UK, it remains carbon negative due to the growing conditions, its lack of chemical treatment and its long lifespan.
Abodo Vulcan VG is durable and stable, thanks to thermal modification and processing that results in the vertical grain. The heat treatment also creates an optimal surface for factory coating with SiOO:X Wood Protection.
This cladding delivers from an environmental perspective, too. It’s free from chemical preservatives and solvents, and a low-VOC Type 1 exterior polyurethane adhesive is used for the lamination process.
