Our modern office facility is a real-life case study of the many ways in which timber can enhance a building both internally and externally and how different species, profiles and coatings can be utilised to achieve your desired effect.
Timber is the one truly sustainable building material as it is a fully renewable resource. With its important carbon storage properties and low embodied energy, timber is playing an increasingly important role in the construction industry. Russwood is fully committed to minimising environmental impact as we believe that we have a responsibility, to our customers, employees and other company stakeholders, to operate as sustainably as possible. To achieve environmental improvements throughout our operations, we are committed to establishing an Environmental Management System to meet the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001 and set environmental objectives and targets, which are regularly reviewed and revised. Russwood is Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified which guarantees responsible management of the forests from where our timber is sourced and PEFC™ certified which ensures the chain of custody of our timber is controlled from the forest through to the final product use.
The majority of our staff live within the local villages of Badenoch & Strathspey. Each year Russwood support a number of carefully selected local events and clubs, and while the type of event varies, a key theme linking them is the promotion of health, well-being and sporting development in our local community. As one of the biggest employers in Badenoch and Strathspey, with many of our staff having grown up in the area themselves before raising their own families here, giving back to the community is something close to the hearts of many at Russwood.
