Russwood offers a range of CPD seminars designed to enhance your knowledge of timber products and specification. Our External Timber Cladding and Timber Flooring CPDs are accredited by the CPD Certification Service and are available to architects, designers, and specifiers either in-person or virtually. Seminars can be delivered at your practice, at our Newtonmore headquarters, at our Glasgow office, at Material Source Studio Glasgow, or online through our bi-monthly CPD webinar.

Specifying Timber Flooring CPD Seminar
Our Specifying Timber Flooring seminar explores all core aspects of specifying and selecting timber flooring for commercial and residential settings. Delivered by our Flooring & Interiors Specification Specialist, this seminar covers:
- Timber science and sawing techniques
- Grading, finishes and solid vs engineered flooring
- Preparation, installation and maintenance
The presentation also includes case studies featuring our European Oak, Douglas Fir, and European Mountain Larch flooring.
This CPD can be combined with a visit to our Newtonmore flooring showroom for an in-person look at our full range of species, grades, finishes, and tones.

Specifying Timber Flooring CPD Seminar
Our Specifying Timber Flooring seminar explores all core aspects of specifying and selecting timber flooring for commercial and residential settings. Delivered by our Interior Project Liaison Technician, this seminar covers:
- Timber science and sawing techniques
- Grading, finishes and solid vs engineered flooring
- Preparation, installation and maintenance
The presentation also includes case studies featuring our European Oak, Douglas Fir, and European Mountain Larch flooring.

Cladding Fire Performance Seminar
This seminar provides an overview of fire performance considerations for timber cladding. Topics include:
- Reaction to fire vs fire resistance
- Euroclasses and CWFT
- Cavity barriers and the Russwood Battening System
- Fire-retardant treatments and certification
Designed to support architects in making informed, compliant decisions when specifying timber cladding.

Our CPDs are delivered by members of Russwood’s expert Specification Team:
Taylor Butler, Cladding Specification Specialist – With a degree in Architectural Science from Curtin University, Taylor is passionate about supporting the creation of thoughtful, sustainable spaces through timber specification.
Fraser Hourston, Cladding Specification Specialist – A graduate in Architectural Technology from Edinburgh Napier University, Fraser specialises in the technical workings of timber and sustainable design. He also holds a Level 2 Certificate in Wood Science and Timber Technology.
Jodie Wight, Flooring & Interiors Specification Specialist – With a background in kitchen and interior design, Jodie works closely with architects and designers to provide expert guidance on selecting the most suitable timber flooring and interior cladding.
Molly Welsh, Flooring & Interiors Sales Specialist – Specialising in timber flooring and interior cladding, with a background in Geological and Earth Sciences, Molly brings a strong understanding of natural materials, helping clients select and specify the most suitable timber solutions for their projects.
Richard Telegdy, Cladding Specification Specialist –
With a history of practicing architecture in Austria and Scotland, Richard is passionate about the built environment, and particularly keen on helping the industry transition to more sustainable practices by working with timber.
