L-BohrFix® A4 Screws

A highly corrosion resistant screw for special applications, patented L-BohrFix® MB A4 screws are precision milled from marine grade 316 (A4) grade stainless steel.

This type of steel is especially well suited to use in decking where constant wetting and standing water is a concern or where the presence of chlorine or salt would cause other steel types to corrode and discolour. The sharp flanks of the screw thread allow optimum anchoring without causing the timber to split and the special drill shaped bit allows most softwoods to be fixed without pre-drilling. We would however recommend pre-drilling high density softwoods such as Siberian Larch.

DimensionInstallation part – (AD)
5.5 x 6024mm
5.5 x 7028mm
5.5 x 8032mm

The small diameter of the flush-drilling 3-step head allows for clean, consistent detailing within your project. Tip: for optimum structural wood protection and in order to reduce the shearing pressure on screws (due to natural movement of the wood). We recommend the use of KompeFix®.

Stainless steel is the name given to a family of corrosion resistant (not corrosion proof) steels containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium. There are three main grades of stainless steel used for screws; 410, 304 and 316, each has different properties that make them ideal in the correct situation. Grade 316 (also known as A4 in mainland Europe) boasts enhanced corrosion resistance due to the addition of molybdenum to the alloy.

Grade 316 is commonly used in industrial and marine environments where salts, chlorides and other chemicals are present.

*TerrassenFix® drill and countersink depth limiter can also be purchased through Russwood for neater and faster pre-drilling. Please contact the sales team for more info.
