Garden glow-up: timber inspiration for outdoor spaces this summer
With the arrival of lighter nights, and warmer weather (hopefully!) on it’s way, it’s a great time to think about enhancing your outdoor spaces. Whether you have a spacious garden or a cosy back yard, adding a timber feature can create a warm and welcoming environment for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the summer months. From garden rooms and huts to decking and dining areas, here are some of our favourite ideas to transform your garden just in time for summer.
Sleek garden room extension
This project by Wimhurst Pelleriti makes use of an untouched space in the clients garden to create a modern office space using timber cladding. The architect has used Thermopine® factory coated with RAL 7021 (Black Grey), to tie in with the existing cladding on their home, the dark tone providing a pleasing contrast against the greenery of the garden.
Summer House
Joiner Ackie Macrae designed this Shepherds Hut for a client in the Scottish Highlands with the brief of creating a charming summer retreat for their garden. The uncoated Thermopine® cladding features prominent butterfly knots, which add to the character of this unique build. The outcome is a cosy, welcoming haven perfect for hosting gatherings and unwinding with loved ones that can be used all year round.
Timber-clad outdoor office
Square One Architects designed this contemporary bespoke garden office space in South West London and used Russwood’s SILA Select® Siberian Larch cladding. The innovative design which combines timber cladding in a horizontal arrangement with large sliding windows creates a feeling of light and space, which makes for the perfect outdoor office space.
Outdoor sauna
Skotlanti Saunas used Thermopine® cladding to create this bespoke outdoor sauna for clients garden. This modern health and wellness pod provides a private space to relax in and reset, which can be used by the clients year round. Thanks to thermal modification, Thermopine® has enhanced stability properties, making it ideal for use in this type of project.
Add a touch of Thermopine® decking
Situated in Aviemore, Pine Bank Chalets used Russwoods Thermopine® decking to upgrade this beautiful lodge with an outdoor dining area at the front so that guests can enjoy a meal looking out onto the stunning mountain views. The choice of decking complements the Lunawood® cladding featured on the chalet. Produced from thermally modified European-grown Scots Pine, Thermopine® is a durable and stable choice for garden decking.
