We are thrilled to announce an exciting new development: Russwood are now an NBS Source Partner, meaning specifying our products is now simpler than ever, thanks to this popular construction product platform. What is NBS?
NBS Source is a free-to-use construction product platform for architects, designers, specifiers and engineers, which helps them to find the information they need in order to make informed product decisions on project specifications. NBS Source contains thousands of construction products from leading manufacturers whose product pages include product specification data, Uniclass and CAWS classifications, product literature and 3D digital objects – creating a single and comprehensive source of product information.
What are the benefits of NBS for Architects and Specifiers?
NBS Source offers architects and specifiers a whole host of benefits. As well as being able to search for and find the perfect products for construction projects, you can easily compare them against one another to help narrow down your choice. In fact, you can select from over 26,000 products covering all aspects of construction. Additionally you can specify them by adding product information directly from NBS Source into your specifications. On top of this, users of the specification writing platform, NBS Chorus, can seamlessly integrate their project workflows with design tools like Autodesk Revit, enabling them to effortlessly add products to specifications or 3D models at the click of a button.
Why are Russwood on NBS?
In light of the recent introduction of the Building Safety Act and the imperative to uphold ‘the golden thread’ throughout the design process, coupled with the ever-growing adoption of BIM, the construction industry is experiencing rapid evolution. The demand for air-tight specifications, on-demand information, and time-efficient solutions has never been more pressing.
Recognising these evolving needs, Russwood has made the decision to join NBS. In doing so, we aim to provide specifiers with the quickest, most accurate, and seamless specifications possible through NBS Source and Chorus. For those who are familiar with our products, we’re sure this will be a welcome addition, making specification writing for familiar cladding arrangements and flooring products a one-click process. Additionally, for those new to our offerings, NBS Source serves as the best place to get a feel for the specific constraints and suitable choices for each species/product, and our technical team is always available via phone or email to discuss any queries regarding the writing of the specification.
Which products can you specify on NBS?
We currently have a range of our most popular external and internal cladding species and profiles available on source. These comprise of Scotlarch®, Thermopine®, Accoya® and Abodo® products; alongside Thermopine® decking and our whole internal flooring range: European Oak, Douglas Fir and European Mountain Larch.
Included within the number of specification variants we currently offer, we list a number of available surface finishes, coatings, fixing methods and sizes, to help you find the perfect specification. We also have a wealth of supporting documentation and literature to help your product decision including Environmental Product Declarations, PDF drawings and case studies.
