An elegant look
With a brief to make the most of these stunning views, the architect and owner opted for an elegant, wide planked floor to be used with under-floor heating, blending the modern and the traditional to striking effect. This bold design choice also introduces a strong element of colour. The use of the European Oak flooring and local stone evokes the cooler tones of the Scottish Highlands while providing a subtle contrast to the greens that await just out of doors.
Contemporary finish
Duncan MacDonald, Blueprint Architecture said, “The client came to the showroom and was shown the full range of products. She selected the smoked white oak and, after working with a few samples of Cross-Sawn, decided to use a more contemporary finish.
