Meet the team – Alice and Craig Campbell
In this month’s edition of Meet the Team, we caught up with not one, but two members of the Russwood family — newlyweds Alice and Craig Campbell, who both work at our Newtonmore office.
Alice and Craig’s day-to-day life at Russwood
Alice is Operations, Health & Safety and Sustainability Co-ordinator at Russwood, helping to drive our route to net zero. From audits and production support to health and safety, her varied role means no two days are ever the same.
“I get to do a bit of everything,” says Alice. “I love the variety, the opportunity to learn, and being trusted to take initiative.”
Craig, meanwhile, is Senior Cladding & Decking Sales Advisor. He works with both domestic customers and trade professionals, guiding them through product choices and helping to bring their timber projects to life. “It’s great to work with such high-quality products,” he says. “I really enjoy enlightening people on what timber can do and seeing their projects come together.”
Craig recently celebrated his fifth year at Russwood, while Alice joined the team two years ago.

Working together
Although they share a workplace, their day-to-day roles rarely overlap.
“I’m based in the production office,” Alice explains, “so it’s only the odd phone call that crosses over!”
While they enjoy working at Russwood together, both admit it’s important to switch off from work at home, a balance they’ve worked on over the years.
A Highland love story
Alice and Craig first met online during lockdown, when Alice was living in Fochabers, near Elgin. After a few years together, they settled in Newtonmore in 2021 – close to Craig’s family where he grew up – and now firmly part of the local community.
Last summer, while on holiday on the Isle of Coll, Craig surprised Alice with a seaside proposal. Fast-forward to Wednesday 24th September 2025, and the couple tied the knot at the stunning Boreland, overlooking Loch Tay.
Their celebration was filled with thoughtful, personal touches, from bohemian bouquets and hand-written calligraphy to fire pits glowing under the evening sky. Guests danced to a joyful mix of ceilidh tunes and singalong classics, with plenty of tartan, sparkles, sombreros and neon accessories lighting up the dancefloor. The evening ended with a rendition of Loch Lomond in true Scottish tradition.
Colleagues Kelsey and Molly from the Newtonmore office joined Alice’s daughter Lilah and sister-in-law Jessica, as bridesmaids, helping to make it a truly special weekend-long celebration. The pair spoke highly of their friends and support system, and how lucky they are to have them. Craig’s favourite moment of the day? “Sharing a quiet drink together in the beautifully set-up barn, reminiscing on some of our many memories together.”

Life since the wedding and honeymoon plans
Married life has flown by, “It’s been over a month already!” laughs Alice. The couple are now looking forward to their honeymoon in Mauritius next May; ten days of sunshine, beaches, and well-deserved relaxation.
At home in Newtonmore, they share life with Alice’s daughter Lilah (13), and their two dogs: Jasper, a 10-year-old lurcher, and Tay, a 5-year-old cocker spaniel.
Quick fire questions and fun facts
To round things off, I asked the couple a few quick-fire questions:
- Who’s the better cook? Alice, the pair answered with hardly any hesitation, especially praising her famous curries.
- Who’s more organised? Craig: a self-confessed “neat freak” (a fact that even made it into his wedding vows!).
- Night in or night out? Night in, they both love a good board game or chess match, paired with a glass of wine or Craig’s drink of choice, whisky.
- Favourite holiday destination? Greece or Iceland – “Reykjavik ticked all the boxes: bars, lagoons, culture, and the crisp, cool climate.”
And if you didn’t know – before joining Russwood, Craig worked at a craft beer and wine shop called The Grunting Growler in Glasgow from 2016 to 2019. Having swapped hospitality’s late nights for Highland life, he’s feeling settled in his home in Newtonmore.

Part of the Russwood family
Both agree that being part of the Russwood team is something special. “It’s such a supportive, friendly place to work,” says Alice. “Everyone looks out for each other.”
We’re so lucky to have both Alice and Craig at Russwood — and we wish them every happiness as they start this new chapter together.
