Meet the Team - Morgan and Lynsey
Morgan And Lynsey

Russwood’s Newtonmore base is home to our sawmill, planing mill and in-house factory coating facility as well as our office which homes our sales, admin and marketing teams. Continued growth has meant we have taken on 10 additional team members in 2019 in both office and yard roles taking us up to 54 staff in total.

Two of our newest recruits are Morgan and Lynsey, who joined Russwood as Cladding Sales Advisors in July. While the girls have long out-numbered the boys in the Russwood office, Morgan and Lynsey are in fact the first female members of our Cladding Sales Team. We caught up with them both to find out a bit more about how they came to work at Russwood and what their first few months at Russwood have been like.

Morgan Corrieri

“Before joining Russwood, I was the Site Administrator at Melgarve Substation in Laggan. I decided to apply for the Cladding Sales role as I had never worked in a similar sector before and was very interested in taking on a new challenge and trying something totally new.

A usual day at Russwood consists of responding to enquiries, either by phone or email and providing technical advice if necessary. We regularly get the opportunity to host tours which I find very beneficial as it gives the customer the chance to visualise the cladding and we can discuss any queries they may have face-to-face. It is a good way to understand what they are hoping to achieve so we can provide the most appropriate products to meet their requirements.

Every day I am learning something new which I find to be a positive as you should always be looking to expand your knowledge, and I have learnt that I will probably always be kept on my toes. Every day is a school day as they say! The Russwood office is a great environment to work in and all of my colleagues have been very welcoming and accepting of me starting my new role which I am very grateful for.”

“Friendly. Chatty. Outgoing”

When I’m not at work….

“I enjoy socialising with my friends but also making time for my family. It is important for me to take time to switch off from work in order to achieve a good balance.”

Not a lot of people know this about me…

“Something that a lot of people don’t know about me is that my surname is of Italian origin and not a lot of people know how to spell it either haha”

Lynsey Whyte

“I have a degree in Finance, and worked for 19 years as a Design Scientist at LifeScan in Inverness. I took voluntary redundancy to spend more time with my children and have spent the last 5 years at Kingussie Medical Practice as receptionist.

I was attracted to the role at Russwood because it’s a family run business, local and with great career opportunities. It’s also very flexible for working parents which is definitely a bonus. A typical day at Russwood consists of responding to customer enquiries via email regarding cladding and decking. I’m still in training but I expect I’ll be taking customers on tours soon.

There is so much to learn; wood is definitely not “just wood” here at Russwood. There’s great variety in the role and it’s nice to help people from their first contact with Russwood through to them placing an order.”

“Daft. Running. Mum”

When I’m not at work…

“I’m Mum to 2 girls so most of spare time is taken up with them but I enjoy running, taking the dog for walk and meeting up with friends.”

Not a lot of people know this about me…

“I have a phobia of worms. I’m running the London Marathon in 2020.”
