L-GoFix® A2 Screws

L-GoFix® A2 screws have been designed by Austrian timber engineers, SIHGA, to achieve optimum timber performance and sharp detailing.

Patented L-GoFix® A2 screws are precision milled from A2 grade stainless steel. A2 grade stainless steel provides inherent corrosion protection for most exterior timber cladding and decking applications. The sharp flanks of the screw thread allow optimum anchoring without causing the timber to split and the precision milled splines on the shaft ensure that Scotlarch®, Thermopine®, and Accoya® do not require pre-drilling. We would however recommend pre-drilling high density softwoods such as Siberian Larch.

The small diameter of the flush-drilling 3-step head allows for a clean, consistent detailing within your project. Tip: for optimum wood protection by way of enhanced ventilation, and in order to reduce the shearing pressure on screws (due to natural movement of the wood), we recommend using KompeFix®.

Stainless steel is the name given to a family of corrosion resistant (not corrosion proof) steels containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium. There are three main grades of stainless steel used for screws; 410, 304 (A2 grade) and 316 (A4 grade); each has different properties that make them ideal in the correct situation.

For use class 3.2 (i.e. facades subjected to frequent periods of wetting) grade 304 (A2) grade stainless steel screw is recommended. 410 grade can be used in areas subject to use class 3.1 (i.e. covered facades, infrequent wetting).
