Something in the water?

Russwood’s unusually high number of twins…

About one in 65 births in the UK are twins, but here at Russwood it’s a lot higher, with 5 of our 50 employees having a twin in the family. Jenny, Gareth, Gillian and George all have twins while Graham is a twin himself.

“The number of Russwood twins has certainly been a topic of conversation in the office, leading some to wonder whether there might be something in the Russwood water!”

Jenny, our Operations Assistant has a boy, Archie and a girl, Connie age 7. They have very different personalities and interests so are never really referred to as ‘the twins’. Jenny also has an older daughter, Ruby who is 9. Jenny said: “It was a total surprise that we were having twins, we hadn’t anticipated it at all. We didn’t want to know if we were having boys or girls and we were delighted to have one of each!”

There’s two sets of twins within our Cladding Sales Team – Gareth has 10 month old twin boys and Graham is a twin himself. Gareth says; “The twins have very different personalities, Nathan is boisterous and bold around the house, though he is shy with other people. Mikey is the opposite, a friendly wee soul with strangers, but needs a lot more cuddles than his brother to keep him happy.” Gareth also has an older daughter, Skye who is 4.

Graham is the only Russwood employee who is a twin himself, he has a twin sister, Nicola. Graham says “It’s nice having a twin because growing up you always had someone going through the same things as you, first days of school, exams that kind of thing. It’s not always been sweetness and light however, I once hit her on the forehead with a rounded spatula and made her bleed. Sorry Nicola!”

Russwood’s Research and Development Assistant, Gillian has twin boys, Kieran & Ethan, aged 7. Kieran and Ethan are the best of friends and have very similar interests but very different personalities. Identical twins, even some relatives find it difficult to tell them apart. Gillian also has a younger son, Evan age 4.

At just 5 weeks old, Paint Line Supervisor, George’s twins Jack and Abbie are the newest addition to the twin family. Congratulations to George and his wife Gemma who also have a 2 year old son Ollie – a very busy household indeed!
